But other than that she is coming along fine.

Some more work on the spit this afternoon, and so far so good. there are a few problem areas such as the 'saddle' that sits over the front part of the cockpit. This didn't sit right and required some grinding out to sit over the instrument panel, and forward bulkhead.
But other than that she is coming along fine. For more pics check out my builds section.

I started my Airfix Club 48 scale Spitfire today, I am doing this for myself, and I will be finishing it as the air sea rescue version.
So far my impressions of this kit are very positive, the level of detail is impressive and she should turn out to be a beautiful kit. There is only one thing I have found to be wrong, however it is only minor, and that is one of the panel lines from the engine cover at the prop end is misaligned. Typhoon Demonstration Diorama Part 5I have now finished the Diorama as intended, however it looks a bit barren. So after discussing it with my wife and my Facebook followers I am looking into some foliage, and a refuelling set to liven the seen up a little. I will keep you apprised as and when I have the parts and my choices.
In the meantime I will be working on my club kit from Airfix! For more pics see my builds page Lots done since the last time I posted, the Typhoon is almost done. I finished the camo, got the decals on, finished the panel line wash, and got the weathering done.
There are still a few things left to do, such as finish and fit the rockets, cut the bases off the figures, and find a base for the diorama. Below is a picture of everything set up to give you an idea of what the finished product will look like. For more pics visit my 'Builds' page What an eventful day, with its ups and downs! So I got the colour complete on the underside of the aircraft, I then masked it up ready to start the cammo on the upper, and aw snap, I gone an broke me airbrush! No joke, its dead, so the painting work came to an abrupt end. (how ever my lovely wife sprung into action and ordered me a new one, and it should be here Friday!)
So I did what I could with the Typhoon, mainly fixed the landing gear, and I then moved on to painting the ground crew. On the upside my Airfix Club kit turned up today and she looks like she will be a beautiful kit when she's made. head to the builds page for all the pics from today! Okay so lots done today, and can you believe it the main part of the build is done already. This is not only down to this being a relatively small scale kit, but is mostly because it went together so well.
This kit is a dream to build Well Done Airfix! For more pictures of the build so far head over to the 'Builds' page! So Hurricane done and on to the next project. I will be starting this Monday all being well, I am doing this kit as a Demo for my local model shop Rossendale Models. I am calling this done! The only thing left to do is put on the aerial cable, but I am going to do that at a later date.
I am planning to mount this impressive kit to a base and form a small diorama, with some men doing some maintenance and reloading of the guns, but before i can do that I need to sauce some 24th scale figures. I will most likely be using the Tamyia 24th scale pit crew for this, however it would be nice if Airfix mad 24th scale ground crew to go with their line of kits. I hope you enjoyed following me on this build, I will update you once I get the things for the diorama. To see all the pictures of this kit hit the Builds Button at the top of the page! Just a quick one today, after allowing the decals a full weekend to dry I have now sealed them in with another gloss coat, and started the panel line wash.
I have also masked the canopy with Humbrol Maskol ready for painting. Ok decals are now on! and we are entering the home stretch. but don't be fooled there is still a lot of work left to do.
