I have now finished the 35th scale bike diorama, and started on my next for sale project, a pair of 1/72 SU 85's.
take a look at my Builds section for mor pics of the bike! Wow I have done a lot since last I posted and I am sorry for not keeping up to date here. The Ostwind is done and back to the client, as well as the Elephant. I have compleated the first of my new Items for sale, which was a set of German 105 LEFH arty in 1/72, and I am now working on a 1/35 scale Miniart Harley. Take a look at my builds page for more pics of the bike
Work has been progressing nicely on the Ostwind since the last post. The client has asked me to build a small diorama for it, and I have added another two figure from my stock to fill it out a little bit. It is almost all done now just got the last of the original 3 figures to complete, and a few finishing touches to the base. so here are a few pics so far. Before: After: And the Dio so far: First of all let me apologize for the lack of posts of late, between working, updating my face book page ( https://www.facebook.com/Niksmilitaymodels?ref=aymt_homepage_panel ), and sick kids I have found it hard to get the time to come here. Things are starting to settle back down now so I should be able to get back to at least once a week posting. At the moment I am working on two Refinish projects for a client, these are kits that he built and painted, and has asked me to repaint for him. Although I don't normally do this sort of thing it is something I enjoy, as in some cases the transformation is amazing. The first of these two I am working on is a 1/35 scale Ostwind and 3 figures. For this I striped down as much as I could without causing damage to the kit before the repaint started. For this type of work it is important to understand that I cannot work miracles and the finish really dose depend on the standard of work carried out before hand. Before and here is the work done so far. Once I am done with this I will post all pictures of the project in the 'Builds' section of the site, so you will be able to see the whole process from start to finish.
If you are interested in getting your kit Refinished by me please feel free to message me via the 'Contact Me' section or leave a comment here. I will need pictures of the kit to be refinished before I can give you a price, however a refinish will usually be cheaper than a new build. So in between other projects for people I have manged to finish my club Spitfire, I got some of the new Airfix 48th scale ground crew to go with her. I only used 2 of the figures but the rest will be utilized on another project, the only thing left to do is get a base to form a small diorama.
so final impressions of this kit are overwhelmingly positive, despite one or two small issues she went together with out a fuss, and the details are superb. (although this kit is only available to Airfix club members, it uses most of the same parts as the new Mk1) The ground crew, not much to be said about them other than they are some of the best 48 scale figures I have seen and are well worth the buy. I have now completed the second cameo, and the first 2 are now on Ebay, there is a link to my Ebay Store on the home page.
Since my Ebay store is now empty I have been working on something to put in there. 1/35th scale cameos. a single figure on a 50mm base. These should be hitting the store at some point next week stay tuned for more info and pictures.
The will be retailing for around £10 with free 2nd class shipping to the UK, and £2 to the rest of the world. I have done some more work on the club spit and she is coming along nicely. The tailplane and rudder assembly is now complete and installed, and the light grey has been done on the underside.
Updates on this kit will come as and when I have time to work on her as this is one of my own projects, and I have to fit it in around my paid work. here is a pic of the work so far. After a short break I am continuing work on a Revel 1/32 scale Mosquito commission. As expected it lives up to Revel's recent standard of bad kits, and required a lot of filling, carving and sanding.
Work is progressing well and I expect to have it complete, by the end of the week or early next week. I will be posting pictures once it is finished. |
